How to Join

We invite all NIDILRR-funded projects to join or renew membership in NARRTC. The mission of NARRTC is to promote the full inclusion of persons with disabilities in American life through applied research, training, technical assistance, knowledge translation, development and demonstration activities. The Association values excellence in conducting research to solve issues of disability and service delivery, and in developing evidence-based products that make a difference in the lives of persons with disabilities.

NARRTC membership provides the opportunity for NIDILRR-funded grantees to work together to make a positive difference in the lives of persons with disabilities. The Association was founded over 30 years ago as the National Association of Rehabilitation Research and Training Centers (RRTCs). The Association’s current name is the acronym NARRTC, which reflects that membership has expanded to include ALL NIDILRR-funded projects. Dues are used to support association activities and member benefits, many of which are described in the NARRTC brochure.

Project Membership

Project membership is open to any currently-funded NIDILRR grantee and covers all staff within that grant. Annual Dues are based on a project’s budget for the period January through December. Dues for grantees funded above $350,000 per year are $500. Dues for grantees funded under $350,000 per year are $200. This level also includes grantees who have received no-cost extensions for the current fiscal year. Switzer Fellows and Phase I SBIR grantees are invited to join with a complimentary membership. Researchers from completed grants or those interested in pursuing NIDILRR grants may apply for individual membership (see below).

PROJECT BUDGET DUES
Fellowship & Phase I SBIR $0
$349,999 or lower (including no-cost extensions) $200
$350,000 or higher $500

Individual Membership

Beginning in 2021, NARRTC opened membership to individual researcher who do not have active NIDILRR-funded grants. Individuals whose NIDILRR grants have ended, as well as prospective investigators, may join at the individual level with dues at $100. As with the project membership, annual dues cover one calendar year of membership. Individual members receive the same benefits including reduced conference fees and voting privileges.
